I got the scoop on Mean Girls 2 from actor Iziah Williams, who plays a member of the North Shore soccer team alongside Diego Gonzales (Pretty Little Liars), Patrick Johnson (Christmas Cupid), and Tracy Campbell (Meet the Browns. )
Directed by Melanie Mayron, who has also directed titles such as the television series Greek, 90210, and the Naked Brothers’ Band; Mean Girls 2, proves to be more fun than the first.
Part of the formula for producing a fun film was having Meaghan Martin (Camp Rock) and Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place) a part of the cast. Iziah says Meaghan was his “on set iPod," always singing oldies songs, and that Meaghan and Jennifer were a hilarious duo.

Beiing a young actor, working on this set gave Iziah a greater appreciation for all the people it takes to make a film. He claims, “I will never not sit through the credits again.”
Since this is a made for TV film, and Iziah has also worked on big- screen features, I asked if he noticed a difference in production methods. “The only real difference in making a made forTV film and a feature film is the constrained time line. We only had a month to make this, which made every hour of filming count. [It was] crucial to finish and also be the best that it could be, which is why i believe that Melanie and her assistant directors Linda Brachman, Alisson C. Rosa, and Tim Fitzgerald did an outstanding job of keeping us on track.”
Catch a showing of the 2004 original (featuring everyone's favorite "Mean Girl" Lindsay Lohan) before Mean Girls 2 premieres January 23 on ABC Family at 7pm/8 Central.
