Oscar Fever!


Oscar fever is in full swing! With only 30 days until the 83rd Academy Awards, film lovers everywhere are buzzing about the nods, the snubs, and who they have already deemed "the winner." "Best Picture" and "Best Actor/Actress," are usually the most highly debated about, and this year is no exception. The King's Speech and The Social Network are the big contenders, but Toy Story 3 can always swoop in and win best picture. The Golden Globes, the SAG and DGA awards are all factors in predictions but, essentially, winning all comes down to the 5000+ members of The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences opinions'. There are many film experts, dedicated to following the race, guessing how the Academy will vote. The key is knowing what they look for. To become an expert at predicting Oscar winners, one must become an expert in Oscar history. Before I throw down my biased opinion (Or jinx a certain aquatic bird film), below is some great info on the road the The Academy Awards, and how they're chosen:
