Chris Hemsworth, the hunky star of Thor will save the world (and production companies) one film at a time. A remake of the 1984 classic Red Dawn, will star Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, and Connor Cruise (son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman). The actors went through some intense training for these roles, and production was intricate to say the least.
In the 2011 version, a group of teenagers save their town from Chinese invaders, slightly different than the original, which featured a Russian invasion. Some government conspiracy theories have been going around as to the reason why the film was not yet released, but in reality, MGM has been hovering in the realm of bankruptcy.
The film was shot in Mount Clemens Michigan. You can read some local details of the filming here. Michigan has been a prime spot for filming in recent years due to its cost efficiency and great locations. Hopefully the film will be released in the near future. For now we have a dedicated film follower giving updates on Red Dawn's progress here.
