Gypsy Hearts Have No Love For YouTube Stars

If a big star was going to bring controversy to the subject of Rebecca Black, it would be none other than Miley Cyrus. Cyrus recently announced her resolution to bring love to the world through her Gypsy Heart Tour which kicks off April 29th. Cyrus talked to the Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia about keeping fans happy rather than the media, bringing crowd involvement to shows, and singing over dancing on stage.
Miley also put her two-cents in about the entertainment business. "It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn't just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour." Artful music requires talent and passion. Without those 2 vital ingredients all you have is noise. One listen through Britney Spears' Femme Fatale and you can see the point. While this album is one of Spears' best, it's empty. There's no emotion, and it doesn't tell the listener any more about Britney than Baby One More Time did.
Although social networking has become a vital part of being in any branch of the entertainment industry, it shouldn't be the only way in. (Just ask Miley Cyrus what she thinks of Twitter) The media is sending today's youth the wrong message. Music isn't about money, fame, or how many friends you have on Facebook, but a passion for art, and bringing people to a better place. The rainbow is the fun part, that's why the pot of gold is at the end.
