My favorite performance of Scotty McCreery's (American Idol season 10 winner) was his rendition of "where were you when the world stopped turning" (originally sung by Alan Jackson).
On September 11th 2001 I was in shop class, and my teacher was belligerent because he couldn't get on the CNN website to check his stocks. The IT guy informed him that the internet was flooded out because planes had crashed into the World Trade Center.
Driving home from school that day I remember hearing "Stuck In the Moment" by U2 and "Superman" by Five For Fighting, and feeling somehow that the world had frozen, as the DJ from KISS 108 stated they were trying to play "comforting music." Everyone remembers where they were. Ten years has gone by. The important thing is that we never forget. The tragic unification of our country lives on in films and music forever.
