Miley Cyrus: Bringing Sound Beyond Her Voice

Miley Cyrus took to her Twitter account yesterday to announce that she is returning to Haiti after putting a bid in at the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s “So the World May Hear” awards Gala in St. Paul Minnesota Sunday. Miley tweeted, “Going back to Haiti :) just bid at the @starkeyhearing gala and it's confirmed! I am so excited! Bringing all my friends this time. #blessed.” Miley also performed at the event, singing 5 songs “Who Owns My Heart,” “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “The Driveway,” “Landslide” and “The Climb.”

Global Action Youth Leadership Award

There hasn't been much good news recently for teen role models, and the press hasn't done much to help it. Seeing this story on CBS was a nice change of pace, when seemingly hopeless news reports on world events flood our television sets. Miley Cyrus was honored at the1st Annual Global Actions Awards Gala, held in Beverly Hills Friday February 18th. Cyrus has been known for her work with charitable foundations for cancer research, Blessings in a Backpack, and her own Get Ur Good On. Miley was honored due not only to her own contributions, but her work in getting kids pumped to spread the love. Her goal for 2011?- Cyrus tells Marie Claire its to "spread love and change the world."
