Young stars absolutely rocked the 2010 American Music Awards. Although I'm not a converted "Belieber," my favorite performance was Justin Bieber. His song "Pray" was soulful and heartfelt, and the best any live performance I've heard Justin do. Bieber was the big winner with four awards, taking home the biggest prize, "Artist of the Year." Miley Cyrus had a hard time holding back tears (as did I) while she sang "Forgiveness and Love," which was a last minute decision to perform in lieu of promoting her upcoming single, "Every Rose." Katy Perry's "Firework" and Pink's "Raise Your Glass" added to the positive vibe of performances from the night, doing what music does best, lift up its listeners. At this time of turmoil in the world, words to songs like these are inspiring to people from all walks of life.
