Well not quite. In an interview with a Chilean newspaper, legend Paul McCartney has compared pop sensations Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber to The Beatles. Although my Espanol is limited, there is a rough English translation of the article
here. McCartney discusses the phenomenon, and how the music of Cyrus and Bieber unites teenagers throughout the world in their love of these idols, the same way The Beatles did in the '60s. McCartney even alluded to the great stage presence of these two artists.
Miley and Justin are in the midst of sweeping world tours right now, and McCartney will be in Chile on the heels of Cyrus' Gypsy Heart Tour, May 11th. It's iconic that a Beatle would even recognize the presence of teen pop stars let alone compliment them. McCartney is helping to give current pop music a backbone. All in all you can say this is "pretty cool."
