The Closer: Work And Personal Life Collide

While Kyra Sedgwick's character, Brenda, in The Closer is no ordinary woman, the struggles she faces are  something everyone can relate to. Balancing work and personal life is a never ending battle. It becomes difficult to compartmentalize life when emotions are running high and difficult problems are at hand. Work often bleeds into one's personal life since at some point the two merge. Spending forty plus hours a week in a place makes it more than a minor part of life. In an emotionally charged position such as Brenda's, it's not easy to leave work behind when she's not on duty. Television is a universal tool that connects people together in the sharing of circumstances and emotions. We want to watch shows that we can relate to and understand the characters on the screen.
