What will 2011 Entertain Us With?

Thor: A comic book classic starring Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins. Liam Hemsworth tried out for this film, but his older brother won the battle. This film has been buzzed about for over a year, and its coming to a theater near you May 2011!

LOL: A remake of a 2008 French film starring Miley Cyrus, Ashley Greene, Demi Moore, Douglas Booth, and Adam Sevani. When Cyrus signed onto the script, Hollywood was abuzz, since her character kisses a girl, smokes, and has sex. I say, "Hannah who?" This comedic flick has a great storyline, and is sure to hit close to home for mothers and daughters everywhere.

Joe Jonas' Solo Album: I was never sure if the middle Jo Bro could measure up to his younger brother Nick's talent and suave. After some solos in Camp Rock 2, I'm sure there is plenty of space in the music world for a solo side project from Joe Jonas.

Justin Bieber's 3-D Concert Movie: 3-D Concert movies are the new smart phones for musicians. Girls everywhere will get to be with Justin via the big screen this coming Valentine's Day.

So Undercover: For someone who said she was "taking a break", Miley Cyrus sure is working a lot. Starring Cyrus, Kelly Osbourne, and Joshua Bowman, this action-comedy directed by Tom Vaughn will hopefully be a better view than the ever so hyped about Bounty Hunter.

Demi Lovato: Ms. Lovato is set to release a new album in 2011 and will also tour (minus some Jonas Brothers) to promote her new tunes.

Smurfs: Katy Perry as a Smurf. Enough said.

Taylor Swift's World Tour: Bringing Fearless everywhere. You too can breathe the same air as Taylor Swift.

Laughing Out Loud with Indie Films

When Lionsgate picked up the remake of a 2009 French Film entitled LOL, starring Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus, Ashley Greene, and Adam Sevani, most people probably thought nothing of it. The fact that such big stars participated in something filmed as independent is pretty big news in the world of acting and film making. Moore and Cyrus claimed in numerous interviews that the film is "indie," saying it's nice to have more "freedom" in filming.
While I'm sure none of these actors worked for free, the way in which LOL was produced is a testament to love of art, minus the dollar signs, since LOL was filmed without having secured commercial backing. With these big names it would be surprising if LOL wasn't picked up, however, this business IS unpredictable. No exact release date has been set yet for LOL, but it may just start a Hollywood trend in no strings attached film making.

Young Hollywood Awards

The Young Hollywood Awards are chosen by Hollywood Life and sponsored by JC Penney and Lipton Green Tea. These awards showcase some of the best and brightest young stars in the business.
Nick Jonas took home an award for Artist of the Year for his solo project "Who I am- Nick Jonas and the Administration." The album and tour were a success so hopefully Nick will do another solo album since Who I Am showcased Nick's natural passion for music.
Twilight stars shined at the gala with Ashley Greene taking home the award for "style icon", and Nikki Reed was awarded "superstar in the making." Justin Bieber was voted, "Newcomer of the Year, " but did not attend the event, due to scheduling conflicts with a video shoot.

Liam Hemsworth received the award for breakthrough actor of the year for his portrayal of Will in The Last Song. It's a shame Liam can't be respected in his own right without being associated with his girlfriend, Miley Cyrus, but it doesn't seem to bother him as he said, I'd like to thank my beautiful girlfriend." Miley was pretty excited aout the whole thing blogging to fans, "Omg. Liam just thanked me in his speech for his Young Hollywood Award. I haven’t stopped smiling. It is so nice to see someone who I care about so much succeed and his work be appreciated. :) yayy!" Liam was just cast for a leading role in Arabian Nights co- starring the respected Anthony Hopkins, set to start production this fall. Liam made his mark in The Last Song, with or without his shirt, proving he can compete with all the other hot American actors. Seeing Hemsworth in an action role should be exciting, and will suit his Aussie accent.
Awards like The Young Hollywood Awards are fun to watch, because recognition is so appreciated by these young stars. Keep an eye out for all the stars featured here to do great things in the entertainment world!
