Kent became a part of the Burbank International Film Festival in May of this year. She produced the opening night ceremonies, which were the first of the festival's history.
Johnnett became very involved with supporting women in the film industry. The opening ceremonies of the film festival celebrated women and their work in entertainment, featuring a wine cheese and chocolate reception, workshops, and screenings of films accepted to the festival made by women. Johnnett's latest project is a children's book she co-wrote with her brother Da'Vel Kent-Bey, inspired by her experiences in working with children. The book is being independently published.
