Johnnett Kent: Finding Versatility in Passion

Johnnett Kent of Baltimore, Maryland is an actress, producer, entrepreneur, and author. Johnnett began her journey in theater, where she was a part of founding a travelling theater company. She then became an educator where she taught acting to children, encouraging self expression.
Kent became a part of the Burbank International Film Festival in May of this year. She produced the opening night ceremonies, which were the first of the festival's history.
Johnnett became very involved with supporting women in the film industry. The opening ceremonies of the film festival celebrated women and their work in entertainment, featuring a wine cheese and chocolate reception, workshops, and screenings of films accepted to the festival made by women.
Johnnett's latest project is a children's book she co-wrote with her brother Da'Vel Kent-Bey, inspired by her experiences in working with children. The book is being independently published. Please check out the campaign HERE

Brittney Green

Eleven year old Brittney Green of Cocoa , Florida is an actress/ model who has big dreams at her currently small feet. She's so busy, it's hard to keep up with her! I asked Brittney where she got the bug for acting and modeling, she replied, "I love to do a fierce pose,I love cat walking, and everything in modeling. I love to act cause I (can) express myself in another person and another way, I just love the good and bad that comes with it and I actually wrote a book about it!" We'll have to see if we can get our hands on that book. Sometimes the wisest advice comes from the youngest of the contenders!
Brittney  recently did a Couture Collection Fashion Show by Anett Lyons. She will also begin auditioning for various roles while working with a mentor who is already in the business. (Britney wasn't sure who it is yet, but maybe she'll get us some autographs!) Brittney is very focused and excited about the career ahead of her. In addition to acting and modeling, she sings and dances, so at this point, Brittney's talents can take her in a multitude of directions. Brittney has been the youngest person we've featured here, but she's definitely on the road to big success, already navigating her way around the entertainment world with ease!

Caroline Guzman

In today’s economy I’m pretty sure there isn’t a profession with fierce competition, mind you, roughly ten percent of the American population is unemployed. Venturing into Hollywood is always a gamble, and one could say it is even more of a gamble in these times. Eighteen year old Caroline Guzman dreams of going to Hollywood someday, specifically, working with Disney. I interviewed Caroline to find out how an aspiring actress goes about finding her place in Hollywood.
Caroline was a costumer at Disney World in Orlando, FL, where she first had a dream of becoming an actress. Caroline says the most important aspect of lifestyles encompassed with fame is being thankful. Thanking fans and thanking God are her two top priorities. Caroline plans to move to Los Angeles in the next few months in order to better able her to attend casting calls, and meet agents. An important step in Caroline realizing her goals was finding God. Her religion is important to her. I asked what challenges she sees in being openly Christian and religious, something that is not easily understood in Hollywood, terms. She said that people shouldn’t use God or religion to gain publicity, only to tell others the good they have witnessed in their own lives. She quoted Michael J Fox, “I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence I can reach for; perfection is God’s business.”
Caroline realizes an important aspect of acting- that all acting stems from the stage. She sees acting as a flexible career world- starting at the stage to TV to the movies, movies being the ultimate. Caroline is actively seeking an agent and explains to me the challenges finding an agent can bring- she can even name someone she wants to work with- Alan Baltes- who is known for work in landing Television roles.
Caroline has the right mind set and determination to make her dreams a reality. Being successful in accomplishing one’s California dreams is a balanced equation- part attitude, part talent, part drive, and part persistence. With a little luck, Caroline can break into the business and become a Hollywood Beginnings success story.
